Hand-arm vibration

HAVS Tier 1–3 Assessments

Work Welfare Support Ltd provides HAVS assessment pathways for workers exposed to hand-arm vibration, supporting employers with structured screening, clinical assessment and appropriate escalation.

How we can help

  • Tier 1 and Tier 2 screening pathways
  • Tier 3 clinical assessment
  • Symptom and exposure history review
  • Appropriate fitness / exposure advice
  • Escalation where further medical review is indicated
  • Recall planning within the agreed programme

Tiered assessment pathway

HAVS surveillance commonly uses a tiered approach. Screening information is reviewed to identify whether further assessment is required, with clinical escalation where symptoms or findings indicate a need for more detailed review.

Clinical assessment and classification

Where a Tier 3 assessment is indicated, the consultation explores relevant symptoms, exposure history, functional impact and clinical findings. The occupational health outcome focuses on fitness, exposure considerations and appropriate next steps.

Supporting exposure management

Health surveillance does not replace vibration risk assessment or engineering controls. Employers remain responsible for controlling exposure and acting on relevant occupational health advice.
